Parsha Emor and killing curses

I didn't have a chance to post this last week, but the Torah portion that we read this past Shabbat, May 5, 2007, was the Torah portion of Emor, which includes at the end a story that relates to Biblical killing curses. It's not included in the book Harry Potter and Torah, but I wrote about it in a previous blog message:
